US QWERTY keyboard

Default US ANSI board. Letters sit where English typists expect them. The on-screen board and this table follow the layout you picked in the exam settings. Set the same layout in your operating system so the keys you press match English on this page.

Home-row fingers rest on A S D F and J K L semicolon. Capitals and number-row marks use Shift.

This is the layout of most US clerical tests and of the English lessons on this site.

How to type letters on US QWERTY

Each row is a character that is not a plain unshifted English letter on that physical key. Shift and AltGr chords change with the layout.

Upper Division Clerk intake across ESIC hospitals and regions

Employees’ State Insurance Corporation recruits Upper Division Clerks for its hospitals, regional offices, and headquarters, with a computer skill test in the clerical pattern. UDC work includes contribution records, cash, correspondence, and hospital clerical support. Insured-person data must be typed accurately. This page is a ten-minute 35 WPM practice gate for the typing slice. It is not ESIC’s official client and not a hospital information-system login. ESIC’s computer-operations module, when listed, sits outside this clock.

Written examination plus a computer skill test (typing and often computer operations) and document verification is the usual shape. Skill tests are usually qualifying. A high written rank does not waive the keyboard. A practice screenshot does not enter an ESIC file. Degree, age, and Corporation-specific conditions sit in the UDC advertisement. Hospital posting preferences do not waive the skill test. Read the cycle you applied to, not a neighbour’s CHSL memory.

Contribution records and insured-person identifiers

UDCs type notes, bills, and register extracts. Accuracy on insurance numbers matters more than sprint speed. Hold high accuracy on this page before you hunt extra WPM. The official passage may still be generic English or Hindi prose. The desk will not be generic. After you can hold the practice gate, add custom strings that look like insurance numbers, hospital names, and contribution periods. Wrong identifiers become complaint cases. Posting preferences never rewrite the Corporation’s skill letter.

ESIC papers sit at the overlap of social security and healthcare administration. Practise spellings of medical-adjacent clerical words if you expect a hospital office, but do not memorise a pharmacology list as if it were the official paragraph. Drug names are useful extra practice, not a promise about the lab passage. Clean capitals on person names transfer either way. Throughput without accuracy is rework in a cash or records room.

Written exam plus computer operations, not CHSL’s formula

ESIC UDC typing lives in the same clerical family as timed computer papers with a qualifying cutoff, but the Corporation writes its own notice, software, and sometimes an extra computer-operations module. Do not assume CHSL’s exact key-depression formula. Use this page for the shared skill, then reread the ESIC skill-test instructions. Opening the CHSL card still trains fingers; it teaches the wrong employer and the wrong caveat. Insured-person files still want contribution digits clean.

Expect a clerical typing speed in the mid-30s WPM English band unless the latest notice prints another figure. Official error-counting may differ from a five-character browser engine. Backspace may be kinder or harsher than this site. If the letter freezes correction, add never-correct sittings. If it adds Excel or file tasks, practise those on a real desktop. Clearing only this clock is not a full mock of a multi-part skill test.

Hospital-office vocabulary that may never appear on the official passage

English is common in ESIC files; Hindi appears in many field offices. Choose the skill-test language listed for your region. This page can switch paper language before start. It cannot install InScript on a lab PC. If you pick Hindi, train Devanagari on a desktop. If you pick English, stop living only on a phonetic Hindi phone the month of the test. Lock the medium printed for your region. Hospital office vocabulary may never appear on the passage.

Medical-adjacent words are a workplace bonus, not a substitute for generic running-matter endurance. If you are posted to a hospital office, interruption is the daily condition: counters, phones, and urgent notes. Exam practice should still be silent and timed. After you hold the cutoff here, add short drills with names and registration-like identifiers. The skill test measures matching characters under a clock, not bedside manner. A hospital-posting preference never waives the Corporation’s skill test.

Why a posting preference never waives the skill test

Candidates sometimes treat a hospital-city preference as if it were a different recruitment with softer rules. It is not. Eligibility and the skill test follow the UDC advertisement for the cycle, not the city you hope to join. A posting preference does not delete typing, computer operations, or document verification. Train as if the lab will be strict. Hope is not a cutoff. Medical-adjacent spellings help a hospital office, not necessarily the passage.

Carry identity and qualification papers as listed. Labs match photo and signature. The candidate name in this box is a local label. Eat, use a familiar keyboard the day before, and bring glasses if you need them. If your advertisement is for a nursing or technical ESIC post, this clerical card is the wrong mock. UDC is a ministerial line. Confirm the post name on the form before you live on this URL.

Holding 95 percent accuracy before hunting extra speed

A useful month starts with accuracy. If you are under the practice accuracy gate, ignore WPM until the red disappears. Then add endurance to ten minutes. Then, if the notice is bilingual, add the second script. Number-row work belongs in every week because contribution records are full of digits even when the official passage is prose. Log date, language, scored speed, and accuracy. Peak speed with collapsed accuracy is a failing plan.

After selection, keep a weekly timed sitting so the skill does not decay before joining. Hospital and regional offices are interruption-heavy. Exam typing is an artificial paragraph. The product at work is clean insured-person data. That habit starts with refusing to guess a number. Official PDFs always win if they disagree with this guide. Nothing here is transmitted to ESIC. Regional offices and headquarters share the UDC cadre, not one building.

UDC skill day beside EPFO SSA and CHSL cousins

Three Union clerical cards can appear in one candidate’s year: CHSL, EPFO SSA, and ESIC UDC. The keyboard craft overlaps. The notices do not. Software, extra Office modules, and language instructions differ. Sit the card that matches the hall ticket you will carry next. If you hold more than one admit card, read both skill-test letters before you assume one 35 WPM gate covers both labs. CHSL’s key-depression folklore does not bind ESIC’s error formula.

If a cycle of ESIC drops typing, you do not need this exam box. If it keeps typing and adds computer operations, add those skills outside this page. If it prints a different speed or duration, train to that printout. This rehearsal stays a ten-minute clerical hold. The Corporation’s client may look nothing like a browser. Do not panic at a different geometry; the fingers still have to match characters.

Frequently asked questions about ESIC UDC computer skill test

Qualifying rules, languages, WPM versus official software, and how this practice paper is not a ESIC certificate.

It lives in the same clerical family — timed computer typing with a qualifying cutoff — but ESIC writes its own notice, software, and sometimes an extra computer-operations module. Do not assume CHSL’s exact key-depression formula. Use this page for the shared skill, then reread the ESIC skill-test instructions. A CHSL mock still trains fingers. It does not quote ESIC’s error rule, font, or Office tasks. Match the advertisement header to the card you sit daily.
