Jammu and Kashmir SSB Junior Assistant, UT rules
Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board recruits Junior Assistants and similar posts for UT departments. Junior Assistants sit in J&K offices. English, Hindi, and Urdu may all appear in working life; the skill test follows the notice. This page uses 30 WPM / ten minutes for English typing in the 30–35 WPM band as a common JA requirement. Urdu typing is not simulated here. It is not DSSSB and not a Delhi rulebook transplanted to Srinagar or Jammu.
Written or CBT, typing test, and DV is the usual shape. Computer proficiency may be included. JKSSB educational and domicile or UT rules apply. Do not apply DSSSB Delhi rules here. Keyboard work does not rewrite UT rows. A practice screenshot does not enter a JKSSB file. Nothing here is transmitted to the Board. Read the cycle you applied to. J&K JA skill tests have been computer-based in recent cycles.
Urdu not simulated; English 30 / ten minutes here
English and Hindi are available on this page. If Urdu is notified, practise Urdu on an Urdu keyboard as well. Spoken Kashmiri or Dogri does not convert an English paper. Spoken Urdu does not convert a keyboard you have never used. Hindi Devanagari is not Urdu. If the notice lists English, train QWERTY. If it lists Hindi, train an approved desktop layout. If it lists Urdu, add that script on the OS.
Winter exam-day logistics are your problem, not the WPM formula — still arrive with a buffer above cutoff. Travel, weather, and power are not this clock. They are why a thin margin fails. Hold accuracy first, then add a few WPM so a stiff lab keyboard and a tired journey do not drop you under the line. Official error-counting, font, and backspace follow JKSSB. This browser allows ordinary backspace so you can train recovery.
Winter logistics versus the WPM formula
Candidates lose sittings to late arrival more often than they admit. The formula will not wait. Pack documents and glasses the night before. Use a familiar desktop keyboard in the days before travel. Do not learn InScript or an Urdu layout in a Jammu parking lot. Rare weather delays are not a waiver. A practice WPM does not rewrite a missed reporting time. Official letters beat a browser log. English 30–35 WPM is a common JA band, not a frozen law.
Both are junior clerical skill tests if you compare JA to DSSSB JSA, but they are different boards, different languages (Urdu may appear in J&K), and different cutoffs. If your hall ticket is DSSSB, open that card. If it is JKSSB, stay here. Opening the Delhi card still trains English. It teaches the wrong UT domicile story and the wrong Urdu warning. Match the letterhead. Urdu typing, when notified, needs an Urdu keyboard this page omits.
DSSSB Delhi rules do not travel to the UT
Educational rows, reservation language, and skill-test software follow JKSSB. Do not import a 35/30 Delhi pair as law. This page’s 30 WPM floor is a training target for English. Convert the printed figure. Computer proficiency, if bundled with typing, needs a real desktop. Clearing only WPM here is then incomplete. Official software remains the Board’s. The browser geometry will not match the official client. Written or CBT marks never waive a listed typing sitting.
Week one: confirm languages including Urdu if printed, baseline English here. Week two: accuracy and Hindi if listed; start Urdu on the OS if listed. Week three: full ten-minute holds. Week four: reread the letter, rest, plan travel. CBT merit is not typing. Typing is not CBT. Split the week. Do not hide in English because Urdu feels harder. Do not hide in Urdu handwriting because the paper is a keyboard.
Computer-based recent cycles on a PC
Typewriter memories and phone IMEs are weak predictors. Practise on a desktop. File work across Kashmir and Jammu offices still needs clean English for Union-territory correspondence. After you hold the timed gate, add place names from both divisions you mis-type. Exam typing is a burst. Office typing is interruption and proper nouns. Wrong identifiers become file defects. Keep a weekly sitting after you qualify so the skill does not decay before joining.
Document verification matches the JKSSB list. The candidate name in settings is a local label. Labs match photo and signature. A practice WPM does not cure a missing UT paper. Carry whatever the notice lists. Eat, use a familiar keyboard the day before, and bring glasses if you need them. A typing test is a vision test too. File work across Kashmir and Jammu offices after joining
Keep weekly sittings in every script you qualified on. English decay is real on a Hindi-first or Urdu-first desk. Urdu decay is real if you retreat to English social media. Correspondence with Union offices still wants clean English. Accuracy on place names from both divisions is the transferable habit. This pack is English (or Hindi) running matter, not an Urdu simulator. Official tools will not look like a browser. Recent cycles have been computer-based; practise on a PC, not a phone.

Srinagar and Jammu labs that are not a Delhi DSSSB hall
Open DSSSB if the admit card is Delhi government. Open CHSL if the admit card is Union SSC. Open this card if the admit card is JKSSB. Junior clerical English overlaps. Urdu warnings and UT domicile rows do not. Sit the matching URL the week of each lab. Do not assume one 30–35 WPM story covers every junior assistant brand in the news. Official software remains each body’s own. Hindi on this page is not a substitute for a notified Urdu paper.
