US QWERTY keyboard

Default US ANSI board. Letters sit where English typists expect them. The on-screen board and this table follow the layout you picked in the exam settings. Set the same layout in your operating system so the keys you press match English on this page.

Home-row fingers rest on A S D F and J K L semicolon. Capitals and number-row marks use Shift.

This is the layout of most US clerical tests and of the English lessons on this site.

How to type letters on US QWERTY

Each row is a character that is not a plain unshifted English letter on that physical key. Shift and AltGr chords change with the layout.

Secretariat RO/ARO under UPPSC, not Junior Assistant

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission notifies Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer for the UP Secretariat and related establishments. RO/ARO work is secretariat drafting, files, and computer typing at a higher administrative level than Junior Assistant, but still includes a skill test when notified. This page uses a 30 WPM ten-minute practice gate as a training floor, not as UPPSC’s official printout. It is not UPSSSC software and not Allahabad High Court.

Prelims, mains, and a typing test for ARO/RO as prescribed, plus interview in some older patterns, is the historical shape. Current pattern is in the UPPSC advertisement. Graduation and UPPSC age and reservation rules apply. A UPSSSC junior assistant qualification path is a different commission. Keyboard work does not rewrite either table. A practice screenshot does not enter a UPPSC file. Nothing here is transmitted to the Commission. Start bilingual timed work the week the form is submitted.

Prelims and mains while a skill test still fails people

RO/ARO aspirants sometimes skip typing until after mains. The skill test still fails people. Keep a weekly timed Hindi and English session while you study GS. Skill tests are scheduled with little gap. A 30 WPM Hindi hold with high accuracy takes weeks to build if you currently hunt and peck. Use this page weekly alongside your written preparation. A high mains rank does not waive typing where the notice lists it.

Hindi is central to secretariat work. English typing appears in many RO/ARO notices. Practise both if both are listed. Hindi and English standards have often been in the 25–40 WPM region depending on language and year. Convert the current pair. Roman Hindi is not the paper. InScript on a desktop is closer to many labs than phone typing. Spoken secretariat Hindi does not convert a Devanagari sitting. Mains marks never waive a listed secretariat skill test.

25–40 WPM region depending on language and year

Treat that band as history, not a statute. This rehearsal’s 30 WPM gate is a floor so you can build toward whatever the PDF prints. Official error-counting, font, and backspace follow UPPSC for that cycle. This browser allows ordinary backspace so you can train recovery. If the letter is stricter, add never-correct sittings. Do not argue a CHSL key-depression story at a secretariat lab door unless the advertisement uses that language.

Older interview patterns versus the current advertisement is a live risk. Do not train for an interview that this cycle dropped, and do not skip typing because an older cycle hid it later. Read the PDF in force. Computer extras, if listed, need a real desktop. Clearing only WPM here is incomplete for a multi-part skill block. Official software remains UPPSC’s, not this browser. Designations and file numbers are the identifiers secretariat work punishes.

Starting Hindi and English timed sessions the week you apply

As soon as you apply, not after the mains result. Week one: baseline both scripts if both are listed. Week two: matra accuracy and official English spellings of designations. Week three: full-window holds. Week four before the lab: reread the letter, rest, pack documents. Through the long GS months, keep one short weekly sitting so the skill does not die. People who open InScript after mains are usually too late.

Secretariat noting demands clean, official Hindi and English. Accuracy on designations and file numbers is the job. The official passage may still be generic. After you hold the timed gate, add custom lists of designations and file-number-like strings. Exam typing is a burst. Mantralaya typing is interruption and proper nouns. Wrong designations become file defects. This page’s 30 WPM gate is a training floor, not UPPSC’s printout. Twenty-five-to-forty WPM pairs have moved by language and year.

Designations and file numbers in secretariat noting

After joining, keep weekly sittings in both scripts you qualified on. Hindi-first desks still emit English letters. English-first hours still sit inside Hindi files. Bilingual decay is real if you drop one script during the gap before joining. This pack is clerical running matter, not a full noting simulator. Official tools will not look like a browser. Accuracy on identifiers is the transferable habit. Allahabad High Court bilingual court papers remain a judiciary channel.

Document verification matches UPPSC’s list. The candidate name in settings is a local label. Labs match photo and signature. A practice WPM does not cure a missing certificate. Carry whatever the notice lists. Eat, use a familiar desktop keyboard the day before, and bring glasses if you need them. A typing test is a vision test too. Official Hindi noting still wants clean English when the file travels up. UPPSC reservation and graduation tables are not UPSSSC’s tables.

Graduation and UPPSC reservation tables that are not UPSSSC’s

Do not import Junior Assistant educational logic into an RO/ARO form. Do not import High Court JJA logic either. Each letterhead has its own table. Keyboard work does not move you between commissions. If you hold both UPPSC and UPSSSC hall tickets, you are sitting two employers. Read two PDFs. Sit two matching cards the weeks of those labs. Shared Devanagari craft is not a shared cutoff. Older interview patterns do not map this year’s advertisement.

If a paragraph here conflicts with the current UPPSC advertisement, follow the advertisement. If this cycle drops typing, you do not need this exam box. If it keeps typing and adds a computer module, add that skill outside this page. A 30 WPM practice gate is a training floor, not a secretariat joining letter. Official PDFs always win. A weekly bilingual session beside GS is the plan that actually survives.

Mantralaya RO/ARO beside two other UP Hindi clocks

Open the UPSSSC card if the admit card is Junior Assistant. Open the Allahabad High Court card if the admit card is the judiciary. Open this card if the admit card is UPPSC RO/ARO. Hindi may appear on all three. Secretariat noting, tehsil files, and cause lists are still different jobs. Train the shared InScript habit, then the prose flavour that matches the employer. Match the letterhead the night before the lab.

Nothing here is transmitted to UPPSC. If you also sit a High Court paper the same season, legal lists help that card; designation lists help this one. Do not merge them into one screenshot you show at the wrong door. Official software remains each body’s own. Start timed Hindi and English the week you apply, not after mains. Skipping typing until the mains result is how otherwise strong files fail.
