DSSSB JSA / LDC / Stenographer

Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board — one of the highest-volume clerical typing tests in India.

US QWERTY — changes with paper language

US QWERTY

Duration 10:00 · practice cutoff 35 WPM · 90% accuracy · copy/paste disabled on the paper

US QWERTY keyboard

Default US ANSI board. Letters sit where English typists expect them. The on-screen board and this table follow the layout you picked in the exam settings. Set the same layout in your operating system so the keys you press match English on this page.

Home-row fingers rest on A S D F and J K L semicolon. Capitals and number-row marks use Shift.

This is the layout of most US clerical tests and of the English lessons on this site.

How to type letters on US QWERTY

Each row is a character that is not a plain unshifted English letter on that physical key. Shift and AltGr chords change with the layout.

GNCTD departments through DSSSB, not Union CHSL

Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board recruits Junior Secretariat Assistants, LDCs, stenographers, and related posts for GNCTD departments. JSA and LDC staff sit in Delhi government offices, local bodies, and departments that requisition DSSSB. Stenographer posts are a separate skill track. This page uses the familiar English 35 WPM band with a ten-minute clock. It is not SSC software and not Delhi High Court Registry. Union CHSL is a different employer even when the WPM looks similar.

One-tier or two-tier CBTs, then a typing or stenography skill test for posts that list it, then DV is the usual shape. Skill tests are qualifying. A high CBT rank does not waive the keyboard. A practice screenshot does not enter a DSSSB file. 12th pass plus age rules sit in the advertisement. Computer certificates may be essential but do not waive the live test. Read the cycle you applied to, not a CHSL blog.

Crowded Delhi labs and short-pitch laptop habits that fail

DSSSB is among the highest-volume state-capital clerical tests. Labs are crowded; keyboards vary. Practise on a standard desktop, not only a laptop with a short key-pitch if you can. Touch typing survives a strange machine. Hunt-and-peck dies in noise. English 35 WPM and Hindi 30 WPM on computer have been the familiar JSA lines. Duration is often ten minutes. Convert the current skill-test notice. Official error-counting may differ from a browser engine.

Delhi offices are bilingual. Pick the skill-test language on your admit card. Spoken counter Hindi does not convert an English paper. Roman Hindi is not Devanagari. If you pick Hindi, train InScript or the approved desktop layout. This page can switch language before start. It cannot install DSSSB’s image. Changing script after you see the lab keyboard is a common bilingual failure in a crowded hall. GNCTD e-office still wants bilingual citizen names.

English 35 / Hindi 30 as familiar JSA lines, not a statute

Those figures are familiar, not eternal. This rehearsal uses the English 35 WPM gate as a training floor. If your notice prints another pair, train that pair. Do not assume CHSL’s key-depression formula. Cutoffs can match in WPM and still differ in error rules. Train the skill on this DSSSB page and still read the DSSSB skill-test notice. Backspace may be kinder or harsher than this site. Add never-correct sittings if the letter freezes correction.

Stenographer posts need dictation practice elsewhere. This card never plays spoken matter. If you applied for JSA or LDC, this typing page is the relevant skill. If you applied for stenographer, pair audio with this keyboard. Mixing the two is how people waste a month. Read the post name on the form. Clearing only WPM here is incomplete for a steno advertisement. Citizen names on e-office files still need both scripts after joining.

Citizen names in both scripts on e-office files

Delhi departmental files, e-office, and public dealing punish wrong citizen names in English and Hindi. The official passage may still be generic. After you hold the timed gate, add custom lists of names you mis-type in both scripts. Wrong spellings become counter arguments. Exam typing is a burst. Office typing is interruption and identifiers. Accuracy is the product after joining. English 35 and Hindi 30 are familiar JSA lines, not a frozen statute.

Delhi High Court JJA is a different Delhi employer with denser legal prose. If your hall ticket is the High Court, open that card. If it is DSSSB, stay here. Same city, different service rules. Opening the High Court card still trains English. It teaches the wrong PA-shorthand and campus-filing story. Opening the CHSL card teaches the wrong Union caveat. Match the letterhead. GNCTD departments requisition DSSSB; Union CHSL never staffs those desks.

12th pass plus computer certificates that still leave a live test

A computer certificate may meet an essential clause and still leave a timed sitting. Do not arrive at verification expecting the certificate to stand in for the lab. Age and educational rows sit in the DSSSB advertisement. Keyboard work does not rewrite them. The candidate name in settings is a local label. Labs match photo and signature. Carry whatever the notice lists. Computer certificates may be essential and still leave a live test.

Week one: confirm JSA versus steno, language, and three ten-minute baselines on a desktop. Week two: accuracy plus bilingual name lists if both scripts matter. Week three: full-window holds at the printed pair. Week four: reread the skill-test letter and rest. CBT merit is not typing. Typing is not CBT. Split the week. Touch typing is the only stable plan in a crowded Delhi lab. This page uses the English 35 WPM ten-minute JSA rehearsal band.

One-tier or two-tier CBT then a qualifying skill

Pattern language changes across DSSSB advertisements. Follow the one you applied under. Skill tests remain qualifying in the familiar story: they can still eliminate you. Sequence typing as a short daily block beside the papers that carry marks. People who only grind GS fail the lab on a stiff keyboard. People who only grind WPM miss the CBT. Keep both calendars. Crowded Delhi labs punish a short-pitch laptop habit you never unlearned.

After selection, keep a weekly timed sitting in the language you qualified on. GNCTD e-office will not look like this browser. Official PDFs always win if they disagree with this guide. Nothing here is transmitted to DSSSB. If the post has no typing test, you do not need this exam box. If it has shorthand, add dictation outside this page. One-tier or two-tier CBT patterns still end in a qualifying skill sitting.

GNCTD labs that are not Union CHSL and not Sher Shah Road

Three Delhi-region letterheads can appear in one year: DSSSB, CHSL, and Delhi High Court. The keyboard craft overlaps. The notices do not. Sit the card that matches tomorrow’s hall ticket. If you hold more than one, read each skill-test letter before you assume one 35 WPM gate covers every lab. Software and error rules can still differ when the WPM looks identical. Stenographer posts on the same Board need dictation this page omits.

If a paragraph here conflicts with the current DSSSB advertisement, follow the advertisement. A 35 WPM practice gate is a training floor, not a GNCTD joining letter. Official software remains DSSSB’s. The browser geometry will not match the official client. Match characters under a clock. That is the only shared craft. Error rules can match CHSL in WPM and still differ in the Board’s client. Local-body postings still want clean bilingual dak after allotment.

Frequently asked questions about DSSSB JSA / LDC / Stenographer

Qualifying rules, languages, WPM versus official software, and how this practice paper is not a DSSSB certificate.

Similar clerical band, different employer and software. CHSL is Union; DSSSB is Delhi government. Cutoffs can match in WPM and still differ in error rules. Train the skill on this DSSSB page and still read the DSSSB skill-test notice. A CHSL mock still trains fingers. It does not quote DSSSB’s client, crowded-lab habits, or GNCTD e-office story. Match the advertisement header to the card you sit daily. Stenographer DSSSB rows still need dictation elsewhere.
