CRP clerk path: Prelims, Mains, LPT — no standard live WPM paper
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts CRP for clerical cadres in participating public-sector banks. Official selection is Prelims, Mains, and Language Proficiency Test. There is no standard IBPS live WPM paper comparable to SSC CHSL. This page is an optional 30 WPM three-minute benchmark some candidates use for keyboard confidence, with an explicit caveat. It is not in the IBPS CRP information handbook as a scored stage. Nothing here is transmitted to IBPS or any bank.
Bank clerks handle counters, CBS entries, and customer communication. Banks may informally check computer comfort; that is not an IBPS-certified typing exam. Provisional allotment follows the official stages. This typing box does not affect allotment. CRP clerk eligibility is in the IBPS notification. A practice score here has zero official weight. Treat coaching ads that sell “IBPS typing tests” sceptically. Your real extra stage is LPT. A three-minute 30 WPM benchmark is optional keyboard confidence only.
Coaching products that sell IBPS typing tests
Those products borrow SSC’s skill-test prestige because a WPM number looks like a government paper. Official clerk selection does not include this mock. Use the page only if you personally want a speed floor before joining. Do not rearrange mains revision around a three-minute browser clock. Do not skip LPT language practice because English WPM felt productive. LPT is about the official or regional language of the bank’s state, which may be a reading or speaking test, not WPM.
English is the medium on this page. Your LPT language is the language of the allotted state or the bank’s circle rules. A high English WPM does not clear LPT. A cleared LPT does not require this clock. If you cannot read and write the local language of the circle you want, that is the real risk. Do not hide in this English typing box instead of practising that language.
Three-minute 30 WPM personal benchmark only
The clock is short on purpose. It is a familiarity drill, not a ten-minute CHSL clone. If a participating bank later runs an informal keyboard check around joining, a modest 30 WPM with high accuracy is a calmer place to start than hunt-and-peck. That check, if it happens, is still not an IBPS-certified paper. Official software will not look like this browser. Do not screenshot this result onto an IBPS form.
After joining, CBS and email still need accurate typing. That is a job skill, not an IBPS marksheet line. Accuracy on customer names and account numbers matters more than a sprint trophy. Use this page as private practice, then type sample name-and-number fields as a custom drill. Wrong account digits are a compliance defect. Exam-style bursts are optional. Desk accuracy is not optional once you are on a counter. IBPS never scores this browser clock.
Nothing transmitted to IBPS or a bank
India Typing Test does not send scores to IBPS, SBI, or any participating bank. A browser result is not a certificate, not a hall ticket, and not a score any HR file receives. The candidate name in settings is a local label. Eligibility, category, and document lists sit in the CRP notification. Keyboard work does not rewrite them. If your form never mentioned typing, you do not need this exam box for official purposes.
SBI Junior Associate is a different letterhead with its own LPT story. If your admit card is SBI, open that card. If it is IBPS CRP clerk, stay here. Both pages stress the same honest point: no standard national live WPM paper. Both still offer a short unofficial benchmark. Do not merge them into one “bank typing exam” you describe to a friend as if it were CHSL. Official handbooks always win.
LPT as language of the allotted state, not a WPM printout
Language Proficiency Test checks that you can work in the language the bank needs in that state. It may include reading, writing, or conversation. It is usually not a 35 WPM SSC-style paper. Prepare that language with real reading and writing, not with this English clock. If the circle language is Hindi, Devanagari literacy matters more than a three-minute English burst. If it is another regional language, this site may not finish that script.
Week one of optional keyboard work: three honest three-minute English runs to see whether you hunt and peck. Week two: accuracy on names and digits. Week three: hold about 30 WPM without collapsing accuracy. Week four: return to mains or LPT language, and use this clock only as a warm-up. People who live here instead of practising LPT fail the stage that actually exists. Split the calendar toward the official gates.
CBS and email accuracy after joining as a job skill
Once allotted, counters still punish sloppy characters. Keep a short weekly sitting if you want the habit alive through the joining gap. Then practise CBS-like fields slowly enough to stay clean. This pack is clerical English, not a CBS client. Official tools will not look like a browser. Throughput without accuracy is rework and risk. Look at every account number twice. That habit transfers. A 30 WPM trophy does not.
If a paragraph here conflicts with the current IBPS CRP handbook, follow the handbook. If a participating bank later prints an informal check, follow that bank’s email, not this page’s gate. If no one ever mentions typing, you still passed the official path without this box. A three-minute 30 WPM practice gate is a personal floor, not a joining letter. Official PDFs always win. Participating banks’ informal computer comfort checks
Some banks may ask you to type a short note or fill a form while someone watches. That is workplace comfort, not a scored IBPS module. Arrive able to type clean English on a QWERTY keyboard without staring at every key. This page can build that comfort. It cannot certify it. Do not argue a 30 WPM screenshot if a bank later uses a different tool. Smile, type cleanly, and move on to LPT if that is the scheduled gate.
Open the SBI LPT card if the advertisement is State Bank of India. Open this card if the advertisement is IBPS CRP clerk. Open SSC cards if you also sit a real skill-test commission paper the same year. Those commission papers are live WPM gates. This card is not. Sit the matching URL. Do not treat a bank-prep benchmark as if it were DEST. Official software remains each body’s own — and IBPS does not publish a standard typing client for clerks.
