US QWERTY keyboard

Default US ANSI board. Letters sit where English typists expect them. The on-screen board and this table follow the layout you picked in the exam settings. Set the same layout in your operating system so the keys you press match English on this page.

Home-row fingers rest on A S D F and J K L semicolon. Capitals and number-row marks use Shift.

This is the layout of most US clerical tests and of the English lessons on this site.

How to type letters on US QWERTY

Each row is a character that is not a plain unshifted English letter on that physical key. Shift and AltGr chords change with the layout.

Private RCM desks, no Indian government billing typing exam

Medical billing and coding data-entry desks are private RCM operations. There is no single Indian government billing typing exam. Billers enter charges, codes, demographics, and payer fields. Throughput and 98 percent-plus field accuracy are how desks are measured. This page is a five-minute mixed codes-and-amounts drill at 40 WPM and 98 percent accuracy. It is not CPC, not a DEST commission paper, and not a hospital credential. Employer typing tests plus practice-management assessments sit beside this clock.

Alphanumeric work has DEST energy with medical vocabulary: CPT/ICD-like tokens, money, dates, and short notes. A 40 WPM prose typist can still fail billing entry by missing decimals. Practise figures every session. English is the medium. Payer names and US date formats appear in many offshore desks. Wrong amounts and wrong codes cost revenue and compliance. Accuracy is the product. Speed without accuracy is unpaid rework. This page uses mixed codes-and-amounts at 40 WPM and 98 percent accuracy.

Mixed codes, amounts, dates; 40 WPM / 98 percent / five minutes

Treat 40 WPM as this page’s floor, not as a statute. Convert the job post. Official practice-management screens will not look like this browser. Backspace policy follows the employer if they freeze a grid; this browser allows ordinary correction so you can train recovery. Hold 98 percent-class accuracy before you hunt 55 WPM. Decimal errors are the typical fail. Log accuracy on figures as its own column. CPT- and ICD-like tokens plus decimals are the passage flavour, not civic prose.

CPC practice emphasises coding-note language without a WPM gate. This card emphasises mixed figures with a speed floor. Use both if you work a full RCM desk. Use this card when the goal is charges and demographics. Use the CPC card when the goal is guideline coding. Do not tell an employer that a billing drill here is a CPC certificate. Do not tell AAPC that a WPM gate is their exam. Letterhead and credential stay separate.

Decimal errors as the typical fail

Week one: three five-minute mixed runs to see whether decimals, dates, or code-like tokens fail first. Week two: number-row and date-format drills. Week three: hold 40 WPM at 98 percent without collapsing in minute five. Week four: add the employer’s own software tutorial if they sent one. Invert that order and you will have pretty prose WPM and a failed charge-entry test. Memorising this finite pack is wasted effort. Official screens will not match.

SSC CGL DEST is a Commission qualifying test for listed posts. If you also sit that paper, open that card for SSC-style talk. Use this page when the desk is private RCM. Numeral density is shared. Medical vocabulary and US date formats are the local extra. Do not show a DEST mock as a billing pass. Do not show this mock as an SSC certificate. Official PDFs and offer letters always win.

Not the CPC page — no WPM gate there

Coders who wander onto this card expecting no speed floor will be surprised. Billers who wander onto the CPC card expecting a 40 WPM gate will be surprised. Read the card name. ICD/CPT correctness is not scored here. Code-shaped tokens can be nonsense. Do not learn coding from the pack. Learn coding on the CPC path if that is your credential. Use this drill so fingers do not drop a decimal in a charge you already knew.

Employer training and CPC or billing certificates help but are separate from this drill. None of those certificates are issued here. A practice screenshot is not an RCM credential. The candidate name in settings is a local label. If a vendor asks for a sample, they will usually give their own file. Arrive already clean on amounts. This page can build that comfort. It cannot certify you to a payer.

Throughput measured in correct fields

Production billing is correct claims, not a paragraph trophy. After you join, keep a short weekly mixed-text sitting so the number row does not decay. Then type sample charge fields slowly enough to stay clean. Look at every decimal twice. Official practice-management systems will not look like this browser. Wrong CPT-like tokens and wrong dollars are compliance events. Accuracy on identifiers is the product. Practice-management assessments at employers sit beside this five-minute drill.

If a paragraph here conflicts with your offer letter, follow the offer letter. If the desk has no WPM line, you do not need this exam box for hiring — though figure accuracy still helps. If the desk prints 45 WPM, train 45. A 40 WPM practice gate is an employment floor, not a government cutoff. Nothing here is transmitted to a hospital or RCM firm. DEST energy helps; a Commission DEST notice is still a different letterhead.

US date formats and payer names on many offshore desks

Offshore Indian desks often type US-formatted dates and payer names that local civic passages never taught. Add those as custom lists after the timed gate holds. Month-day-year mistakes are silent fails. Payer-name capitals are silent fails. The official job test may still look generic. The desk will not. Exam typing is a burst. Charge entry is grids and interruption. Keep both habits. There is no single Indian government billing typing examination to clear.

Private data-entry operator pages on this site use a 40 WPM alphanumeric desk without medical vocabulary. If your job is logistics DEO, open that card. If your job is medical billing, stay here. Same speed floor, different tokens. Opening the private DEO card still trains digits. It teaches the wrong payer-name warning. Opening this card does not mock an SSC DEO notice. Match the posting. Wrong charges and wrong codes cost revenue and compliance, not just rework.

Practice-management software assessments besides typing

Employers often add a software click-through besides a typing sample. This page will not open that software. Schedule both. Do not drop figure drills because you discovered a PMS tutorial, and do not skip the tutorial because your WPM looks fine. Both gates can remove you if both are listed. Official tools remain the employer’s. The browser geometry will not match a charge grid. Payer names and US date formats appear on many offshore RCM desks.

Open the transcription card for report English at 60 WPM. Open the CPC card for coding notes without a WPM pass mark. Open this card for codes, amounts, and dates at 40 WPM / 98 percent. Sit the matching URL. Do not assume one healthcare pack covers all three. The shared craft is matching characters under a clock. The shared cutoff is a fiction. Offer letters always win. CPC note language without a WPM gate lives on the other medical card.
