What does an LIC ADO do and how is selection usually done?

ADO work is tied to agency development and insurance sales, unlike AAO desk roles. Recent ADO cycles used an online exam and interview, with rural / urban vacancy splits and sometimes LIC agent experience relaxations. Those rules will be reprinted only in the 2026 PDF. Do not memorise an old 2019 pattern as if it were already notified for 2026-27.

Is LIC ADO the same as LIC AAO?

No. AAO is an Assistant Administrative Officer recruitment (the last Generalist cycle of 841 posts finished on 9 April 2026). ADO is Apprentice Development Officer. Age, exam pattern, posting and pay differ. Filling a fake “LIC combined form” that claims both posts is a scam pattern. Wait for separate notices.

Can I register on a coaching site for ADO 2026 in advance?

You can take mocks, but you cannot complete a legal LIC application before licindia.in opens. Any “pre-registration fee” is unofficial. Keep scanned photo, signature and ID ready so you can file on day one when LIC actually notifies. Rural candidates should wait to see whether a rural ADO vacancy table exists in the new PDF.

LIC Apprentice Development Officer (ADO) 2026-27 still has no confirmed official notification on this briefing. Pages that say “notification out” often mean a coaching overview, not a licindia.in PDF with a start date.

ADO is a sales-cum-development officer role in LIC, not AAO (Assistant Administrative Officer). The previous AAO cycle ended with a final result on 9 April 2026; that does not open ADO forms.

Until LIC publishes an advertisement, there is no fee, no hall ticket and no vacancy number you should pay for. Watch licindia.in.
