Is the IBPS SO XVI prelims result out?

Not on this briefing. Some calendars say September or October 2026. Until ibps.in hosts a CRP SPL-XVI result notice, treat social-media scorecards as unofficial. Result login uses the same registration number as the August prelims. SO-XV reserve allotment from June 2026 is unrelated.

What is the difference between IBPS SO XV and SO XVI?

SO-XV is the previous specialist cycle, now at reserve / joining leftovers (listed in June 2026 with PO/MT-XV). SO XVI is the current exam: prelims 29 August 2026, mains 1 November 2026. You cannot migrate a XV wait-list into XVI mains. Use the matching CRP number on every PDF you download.

Does every SO post have prelims?

IBPS has used different patterns for Scale I specialist streams versus some Scale II posts. The SPL-XVI notice is the authority for whether your post had a prelims on 29 August or a single exam. If you sat prelims, you wait for that result before 1 November mains. If your post had no prelims, do not look for a 29 August score.

How is IBPS SO final merit prepared?

After mains, shortlisted candidates typically attend an interview. Final merit usually combines mains and interview in the ratio printed in SPL-XVI (commonly 80:20 in recent specialist CRPs). There is no personality test identical to PO XVI unless IBPS adds one. Document verification of the professional degree (B.E., MBA-HR, Law, etc.) is strict — a mismatched stream is rejected even after a high score.

IBPS Specialist Officer XVI (CRP SPL-XVI) prelims was held on 29 August 2026. The prelims result is awaited on this briefing (often guessed as September / October). Mains is on 1 November 2026 for shortlisted streams.

Do not confuse this with SO-XV, which is already at reserve-list stage (June 2026, published with PO/MT-XV). A SO-XV reserve PDF will not download a SO XVI mains call letter.

SO posts (IT, Agriculture, Rajbhasha, Law, HR/Personnel, Marketing and others named in SPL-XVI) need the professional qualification printed in the notice, not a generic graduation like PO. Watch ibps.in only for the result write-up.

Professional Knowledge in mains is post-specific; an IT officer paper is not the same as Rajbhasha. Keep the 29 August admit card until the whole CRP SPL-XVI cycle ends.
